Rachel was allegedly attacked because of her political affiliation, having publicly declared support for President William Ruto and even tattooed his face on her body alongside other slogans backing his re-election.

The singer succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital after suffering burns on 75% of her body.

Speaking from their village in Karatina, Rachel’s elder brother, Mwangi Wandeto, expressed his deep grief and anguish over the painful loss of his sister.

Did Rachel Wandeto’s brother show support for government?

He revealed that only two siblings now remain after the family also lost their father and another brother in 2025.

Mwangi called on President Ruto’s government to ensure that his sister receives justice.

He further openly and boldly declared his support for Ruto’s re-election, saying he had the constitutional right to choose a political side, just as his sister did.

“I have decided that even if my car is labelled ‘2tam’ and it costs me my life, I am ready for that. I fear no one, but I want to urge the government of Kenya to do something. My mum had five children, and now three of them are gone. We are only two left,” he said emotionally.

The grieving man maintained that he was prepared to stand by the current government despite the risks, even as he continued to demand justice for his sister.
