Dan Ulasi, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, has expressed concern over the worsening economic situation in Nigeria, accusing political leaders of prioritising personal enrichment over the welfare of citizens.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Ulasi reacted to the growing economic hardship facing many Nigerians following recent government policies. In recent months, citizens across the country have protested against rising inflation, increasing food prices, and the high cost of living, developments many observers link to the removal of fuel subsidy by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Ulasi, the country’s political class has failed to address the suffering of ordinary Nigerians because many leaders are more focused on looting public resources than improving living conditions.
