A man has stirred debate on social media after sharing his views on public safety in Canada, arguing that insecurity is not the same everywhere and that some countries have systems that respond rapidly to emergencies.

  • Quick response improves public safety

The man, who referenced experiences in Ontario, Canada, said residents receive immediate notifications whenever a child goes missing, helping authorities mobilise quickly and increase the chances of a safe recovery.

His comments came amid ongoing discussions about security challenges in different parts of the world, with many internet users comparing crime rates, law enforcement responses and public safety measures across countries.

The man pointed to the Amber Alert system, a public emergency notification mechanism used to inform residents about suspected child abductions and other urgent situations.

Man highlights emergency alert system

“Don’t let anybody gaslight you and say insecurity is everywhere. Let me tell you what a hostage situation looks like here in Ontario, Canada,” he said.

“If a five-year-old child gets lost and the parents report it, every single person in Ontario receives what they call an Amber Alert. Your phone, car radio and television will all receive the notification as long as they are connected.”

Quick response improves public safety

The man further claimed that authorities often respond swiftly to such incidents, resulting in successful outcomes.

“I have never seen an Amber Alert happen without the person being found in a short time. This place is secure. Make nobody gaslight you say insecurity dey everywhere. There are still safe places in the world,” he added.

Public safety systems such as Amber Alerts have been used across North America for years to help locate missing children.

Similar discussions on emergency response mechanisms gained attention globally in recent years as governments sought ways to improve public safety and community participation in crisis situations.

“Don’t let anybody gaslight you, insecurity isn’t everywhere. In Ontario, Canada, when a 5-year-old goes missing, an Amber Alert hits every phone, TV, and radio instantly. I’ve never seen one where they didn’t catch the suspect within two hours.”
