A sports analyst known as Beyond The Match has criticized reports linking Spanish giants Real Madrid with a €150 million move for Julián Álvarez, arguing that the manner in which the speculation has emerged shows a lack of respect for Atlético Madrid.
Reacting to reports that both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are interested in signing the Argentine forward, Beyond The Match said his concern was not about the reported transfer fees but the approach being taken.
According to the analyst, top-level transfers are typically initiated by reaching an understanding with a player’s representatives before discreetly engaging the selling club. He suggested that Atlético Madrid’s apparent dismissal of the reports may stem from a perception that the rumours are designed to publicly pressure the club into negotiations.
“Neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid would appreciate another club openly discussing bids for one of their key players without first following the proper channels,” he argued.
The analyst also pointed to Barcelona’s reported pursuit of Gordon as an example of how major transfers should be conducted, stressing that clubs must respect established procedures regardless of the player involved.
Beyond The Match further noted that Álvarez remains under a contract containing a reported €500 million release clause, leaving Atlético Madrid in a strong negotiating position and under no obligation to sell.
He concluded that if either Spanish giant is genuinely interested in acquiring the striker, they should engage with the appropriate parties and handle negotiations professionally rather than allowing public speculation to dominate the conversation.
The reports linking Álvarez with potential moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona have continued to generate debate among football fans, although Atlético Madrid have shown no indication that they are willing to part ways with one of their most important players.
