A grieving woman in Nakuru County is not only grappling with the loss of her daughter but also enduring the painful agony of not being able to see her child one last time.

Juliet Munene, a teacher in Lanet, is among the parents whose children perished in the tragic Utumishi Girls Academy dormitory fire that claimed 16 students’ lives.

Her daughter, Linah Juliet, her only child, was reportedly burnt beyond recognition in the fire.

Like every other worried parent, Munene rushed to the school after learning of the tragedy, waiting anxiously in silent prayer for the safety of her only child.

However, while other students were reunited with their parents, her daughter was nowhere to be found. Her heart was shattered.

The devastated mother later checked nearby hospitals after learning that some students had been rushed there for treatment, but Linah was not among the admitted patients.

She later learned that her only child was among those who did not survive the fire.

Despite visiting the mortuary to identify her daughter alongside other parents, Munene was unable to do so due to the extent of the burns.

Identifying Linah’s body has proven extremely difficult, and the family is now relying on DNA testing to help bring closure.

Her story has left many Kenyans heartbroken, with many sharing words of comfort and sympathy.

Her heartbreaking ordeal has moved Kenyans online, with many sharing messages of comfort and solidarity with the grieving family.

Who caused Utumishi Girls Academy fire?

In related news, NgGossips reported that the fire at Utumishi Girls Academy was allegedly caused by students who had raised three grievances.

The students were arrested and arraigned in a Naivasha court on Tuesday, June 2, making their first appearance in public after their accusations.
